Component set

Are the component sets with only 2 speakers good. (Midbass and tweeter). Because in my car I have a spot for a 6.5 and my dash has stock VW tweets in it. Also is there any sets that have a 8 inch bass speaker with a 6.5 and a tweet. I am halfway thinking about getting a kicker panel to hold an 8 inch in.

Re: Component set

By chore do you mean getting a kicker panel speaker box is the chore or...something else? Q Logic offers a kick panel thing that holds I think a 8 inch...maybe 6.5

Re: Component set

Oh. Like lucky as in don't even try or lucky as in it will take some cutting at the enclosures to get them to fit?

Re: Component set

Lucky as in dont even waste your time. The q-logics holds 5.25" at most and that's pushing it. Aside from the physical cutout for 6.5", the q-logic is just a baffle. It's not an enclosure so you'll have basically little to no midbass output. And because the q-logic are not the most rigid thing on earth, it'll resonate and you can definitely hear it. It'll become annoying after awhile. Besides, most 6.5" needs at least 0.3 cubic feet to perform. Anything less, you're choking it.

Re: Component set

Ok. So for me to install a component set I will either have to find one that only consists of a 6.5 and a tweet or I will have to cut away at my doors to fit an extra speaker?
