brighter lights

I was looking at some new headlights, 9007 super white xenon (12V 65/45W) but remembered seeing somewhere on here that some of the bright lights actually melted part of the car's front-end. Is there a certain wattage I should keep under or what?

Re: brighter lights

The wattage you're looking at should be fine. It's the 80w/100w that cause the melting. Be careful of off-brand "Blue" lights, as they do not improve the light output, they only make the light blue in color. Sylvania Silverstars are one of the best for actually imroving the light output, and I hear GE has come out with a new one too, but I don't know of anyone that has actually used them.
