Hi My 1993 Beretta wouldnt start after work today. It started and ran fine on the way there. Worked 2 hours and went to turn it on, the radio started and all but when i went to start it, it clicked. So i figured it was the battery but i tryed starting it again, somewhere under the steering when started smoking. whats happening. tonight im going to try jumping it but why is it smoking there? My husband think that one of the wires on moist or wet from all the ran we got yesturday bcuz i left my window down why it was raining. but i dont know.

The smoke is coming from the ignition switch located on the steering column. It's a fairly common issue on all GM cars equipped with that syle column. Replacing the switch should cure your problem.
