I finally got my check engine light codes read by autozone. I have two codes. They are code 171 and code 174. Do any of you know what is causing these 2 codes, and what I need to fix, so the stupid light will stop coming on?

Re: What are these engine codes?
You can do a search on this forum for p0171 and p0174. Basically, these codes indicate a lean condition, probably due to a vacuum leak. Most of us are finding that this requires the "isolator bolt fix".

Re: What are these engine codes?
Isolator bolt fix is for 1999 and newer windstars.
You will find great information at this link.... http://leckemby.net/windstar/windstar01.html For 1998 and older, it is still almost always caused by a vaccum leak. These engines use a different upper intake manifold, and does not have the issues with the isolator bolts and coming apart. Look for a loose or damaged vaccum line.
