caliper confusion

hi guys i have a 90 civic si and i need new calipers. the ones i got for the car aren't the same they are clearly bigger. what i find weird is that i though that all models of 88-91 civic share the same calipers. at the auto parts apperently the si models have a different caliper from a dx. is this tru. and are they interchangeable.

Re: caliper confusion

Si's didnt have have larger calipers. The only fourth gen to come with larger front calipers was the four door EX (or lx or whatever... the one with the d16).

Re: caliper confusion

om not positive on this but my buddie and i were checking the sizes of the calipers on the autozone computers and it said that all hf,dx,si had slightly different sizes. and i know for sure the hf has the tiny ones.

ahh thats possible, shit. looks like there is a confusion in the parts book lol. so a easy upgrade would be using the 4 door spindles and calipers right?
thanks

Re: caliper confusion

Yeah you need the hubs, rotors, and calipers. The rotors are 10.2", everything bolts directly on. The hubs are harder to find than most stuff. Integra hubs work but some people say it throws off the alignment, but thats easy to fix. This is the same front brakes that the integras run. You will also have to run 14" wheels, 13's wont fit over them.
