d16z6 performance rebuild kits?

i just bought a d16z6 for my 92 hatch and was wondering if there were any companies that sold performance rebuild kits. everything i have seen in magazines and online is mostly focused towards the b series or higher. i was wondering if maybe there was akit the that was a good deal (under $600) that came with something that could help me boost the performance of the engine. i bought the engine with a bad crankshaft from a 93 si. i havent seen the engine for myself because i am currently in the land of sand and sun north of baghdad, i know this was a screw up on my part but hey if this project fails it looks like ill opt for a bottom end rebuild with a mini me swap. any info is appreciated

Re: d16z6 performance rebuild kits?

i haven't heard of any kits like that, doesn't mean they don't exist. if it just has a bad cam you could get a new racing cam, have no clue what kind, does crower make one? i would suggest getting a stock cam for as cheap as possible (junk yard, ebay) and getting a port and polish. i have heard very good things about dhracing.com. p&p with some titanium springs and valves you could probably rev to 7.5k to 8k (not super sure on that, can't remember the redline for this engine, somebody will correct me ) and be putting down some decent power, with i/h/e could probably give an si/b16 car a run for its money, especially in a hatch. just my 2cnts.

*EDIT* whoops! i just saw you wrote CRANKSHAFT and not CAM. bugger. junk yard? if you are going to be pulling it all apart, get forged rod bolts, ARP, etc, i think you can increase your revs and boost more, if that ever comes up.........
