94 explorer trans problem

I recently replaced a tranny in my 94 explorer everything works great except it is not going into O/D doesn't even try. The tranny came from a salvage yard that my uncle owns and he swore up and down that the tranny was fine and worked like it should before he removed it, only has 58,000 miles on it. Anybody have any Ideas? Thanks Jeff

Re: 94 explorer trans problem

I am assuming the replacement trans came from a 94 also. I have seen a few that when they sit for a length of time, the fluid will drain from the seals and cause a leak to the OD clutches. I am not saying that is what has happened to yours. Just that it is a possible cause.
