Question What oil and weight do you use in your Explorer

My 1991 Ford calls for a oil specification** msm- ??c153-m.???
Also "energy conserving" on the API.

My engine (4.0) had lots of Tapping noise(10w-30) untill I used ROTTELA 15w-40 and it purrs so quiet

Moderate climate all year, BUT, What do you use? Any problems?

I have a 1997 4.0 SOHC I have always run Motorcraft 5W30 and it now has 149000 miles on it. No oil leaks and is never low.

I use a 5w30 with my 01 5.0. technically supposed to use a 5w20 with mine but nobody carries that in a full synthetic. Have had no problems
