Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid
I have a 95 aurora:
I am having a problem with my torque conveter clutch solenoid which will not disengage, or that is what the computer at advance auto said. My car will drive but will not shift out of 1st???? Is this actually the problem or is it something else? I have read that I will have to drop the trans to access this solenoid, but I was wondering if it was possible to access the torque converter clutch solenoid without dropping the trans? Any Knowledge will be appreciated. |

Re: Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid
You need the exact code here, the tcc solenoid would not normally hold the trans in 1st.

Re: Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid
95 Auroras were OBD1
A few other GMs were OBD2 in 95 but not the Auroras. Some called the 95s OBD1.5 but that wasnt true either The connector is same as OBD2 but the PCM is still OBD1. |

Re: Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid
I had a similar problem. I got 3 codes, torque converter, and the a & b solenoid. Had to get the solenoids replaced the the converter relearned.

Re: Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid
Wow, thanks for all the replies!
sbronzell, I had the same error messages as you and I replaced the solenoids a and b in the transmission pan, and I no longer get those errors during the scan. How would I go about getting the converter "relearned"? - thanks, Chris Here is the detailed code / message I got from the computer scan at advance auto: ( 88 Torque Converter Clutch Not Disengaging) Last edited by DeepFlorida; 05-15-2006 at 05:09 PM. |
