Rear Disk Brakes

Ok which model of what year has em?? My 1989 CRX si (the one with the snapped timing belt and the engine swap i planned) doesn't have them. I have the american model with the seatbelts on the door. I checked sites on the web and all of them say the 89 si should have rear disks, WTF? I'm now just gonna scrap the car, take off all the usefull parts, and take a look at a friend's rex he's selling for 2 grand. If it has less rust and disk brakes in the back - i'll buy it. But yeah someone please shine some light on this rear Disk Brake delimma.

Si's didn't have the rear discs until 90-91. You can use any of the following trailing arms for your rear disc conversion..

90-91 civic/crx si
90-93 integra
94+ integra
92-95 civic
96-00 civic
93-97 del sol

so basically, use what you find, just remember to ONLY use the trailing arms and not the LCA's, toe arms, or compensator arms.

use the 90-93 integra or 90-91 crx/civic si e-brake cables. you can use the 94+ integra cables but you have to wrap them around the trailing arms.

Re: Rear Disk Brakes

You also dont have to have the whole trailing arm, just have to have the spindle.

Re: Rear Disk Brakes

a late 89 MIGHT have rear disc but those are probably very rare.
