Just installed new trailer hitch

Hello guys/girls from this great forum,

just installed the trailer hitch for Venture 2002 ext with rear A/C, class 3, and did it in about 1 hour.
Wasn't so bad, easy job to do.
I think they told me to measure from ground up to the top of the ball, and it's supposed to be 19'' if I am not mistaken.
My ground cleareance is exactly 19".

Now am curious about wiring for the trailer?? Where can I find the wiring for the trailer or do I need to make my own wiring somehow??
What would you recommend to do and which wiring kit to buy and from where (like autozone, pep boys, or such???)???

I just can't find existing wiring on the van.

If I don't have one (hidden somewhere), how hard is to install one?? And from where do I need to pull the wires to connect to trailer???

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Just installed new trailer hitch

Do you have the load leveling system? If I understand it correctly, there is a OEM harness that plugs into a dead-end plug near the air compressor on these vehicles that comes out to a 4 pin flat plug. Otherwise, you'll probably just need to get one of the "T-type" connectors that don't require any splicing. I believe places like Hoppy have them http://www.trailerwiring.com

Good luck...Glen

Re: Just installed new trailer hitch

I used the HOPPY when I bought my new 02 venture. I think it cost about $50 but it made the installation much easier than splicing into the electrical system. The tail light assys. are removed and the T connectors are pluged in behind them. I hope this info. will help you. Bill
