head differences

Im curretly doing an engine rebuild and I swapped out my old damaged head for a different dsm head (don't know if its 1st or 2nd gen) anyways everything was goin fine until it was time to put the injectors back in. Since i sent away my old head I can't compare them but my injectors don't seem to fit well back into the head. I'm thinking there were some rubber fittings which the injectors went into that I must have forgotten to take out before I sent it away and this head just doesn't have them in place. I was just wondering if anyone knew what my problem is... and how to fix it. I'm pretty sure the injector inlet size is the same on the the two generations but I can't tell and I don't even know what head I have. Its the one with mitsubishi and 2000 on it if that helps. \
Thanks help is greatly appreciated
Maybe a picture?

Re: head differences

There are rubber rings that go into the head for the injectors. Most likely yours are still in the head you sent out. I put a 1g head on my car and its all the same as far as that goes. If you have a 1g head now you will not beable to bolt your 2g cam sensor to the head unless you drill and tap holes for it. Also the intake ports are way bigger compared to a 2g head. Just look at your intake manifold and compare it to the head ports.

Re: head differences

The injectors have both upper and lower seals the lowers are bigger than most o-rings, they probably just stayed in the head. They're kind of pricey about $20 for the whole set.

Re: head differences

you can get the lower seals from slowboy for $10 and the upper seals at a parts store for ~$5, all you have to do is get some o-rings that are approved for use with gas(make sure they are because the ones that arent will fall apart)
EDIT: There is a noticable difference in the runner size on the 1g and 2g head. IIRC if its ~1" its a 2g and if its any bigger its a 1g, Talon69 had the best idea, just compair it to you IM.
