Re: 01 trouble codes
I'm not a jeep mechanic but trying to learn their systems. I have a Diagnostic Manual for 1998. Here's the list they give for possible causes for each trouble code:
P1757 - Corroded, damaged, pushed out, miswired or disconnected connector(s) - Governor Pressure Sensor failure - Governor Pressure Solenoid failure (High probability if problem occurs when cold) - Internal Controller Failure (PCM) P1762 - Corroded, damaged, pushed out, miswired or disconnected connector(s) - Shorted Governor Pressure Sensor signal circuit - Open or shorted 5-volt supply feed to sensor - Governor Pressure Sensor failure - Sensor ground circuit shorted to voltage. (It only takes a small voltage to cause this problem) - Internal Controller failure (PCM) The Pressure Sensor is right next to the Governor Solenoid inside the pan. If you want the tests that they recommend, email me and I'll figure a way to get them to you. Hope this helps. |

Re: 01 trouble codes
Disregard what dale said, thats not the right sensor or even the right trans.
What you need is the goernor pressure transducer or sensor as you called it.The part number is 56028196AD and list price at a dealer is about $65.You also need trans fluid and a pan gasket . I would also change the filter while you are at it.If you can get the pan off,you can change the transducer, just make sure you have a 25 torx bit.You do not have to take the valve body out.You will see the transducer and solenoid are held on by a steel plate.Just unbolt the plate, there are a couple of 7/16 bolts and 25 torx bolts.when you pull the plate off,you can remove the transducer. Its really easy, just might be messy |

Re: 01 trouble codes
I just got the same code for my 2002. (1762) I'm pretty new to the jeeps, and I don't know much about them. I just bought this thing a month ago, so I am trying to find out what the problem could be. I noticed there is a Pressure sensor and a pressure Solenoid. Should I replace both, or just eh sensor? the reason I ask, is I just got this thing and I don't want to buy something, drop the pan, and find out I need both things. I am pretty well broke at the moment, so I cant afford to take it in, and my warranty doesn't cover this part (Assholes!) anyways, Is this a fairly easy project to do? I mean, i do have a mechanic friend who can do this for me in a sec, but I like to get my hands dirty so to speak, so any help would be appreciated.

Re: 01 trouble codes
mopar atf+4 is the fluid,I would just change the filter while you are in there,as long as you don't find any excess clutch material or chunks of metal laying in the pan,you should be good to go.
diddy,it's usually just the transducer,or sensor.I work at a dealer and we replace probably 100 transducers for every 1 solenoid. |
