Question 1995 Maxima number 5 cylinder not firing

I have a '95 maxi that is not firing in the number 5 hole. Standing in front of the car, it's to the back right. I've had some problem with injectors so I suspected one of those and waited until the problem became continuous, so I could identify which cylinder it was. It turned out to be the number 5. That injector is under the intake, so I pulled the rail and replaced all three. Second time and last time in. But that didn't solve the problem, 5's still not firing. I switch the back coils around, putting the number 2, which is a known good coil on the number 5 plug and the original number 5 coil on the number 2 plug. The problem did not follow the coil change, number 5 is still the one not firing. After a startup and short run, feul injection is verified by a gas wet plug extracted from number 5. My question is, what could be causing only the number five plug/coil/cylinder not to fire? Once again, the problem is no fire. Thanks guys & gals for any and all help.

- dead plug
- connections, gnd, wire, shorted/cut
- ECU, its driver 'transistor' burned

U need oscilloscope to verify the ign signal to no.5 coilpack looks like on all others... As/If signal is dead, ECU has to be repaired -or- replaced. First swap the ign plug, and check no.5 wiring plus connectors from coil to ECU pin. Some help via "top left Favorite Links" at http://www.cardomain.com/ride/748507/15

Plug has already been changed and I was afraid someone was going to mention the ECU. That thing is not easy to get to, down there below the radio, control systems and center vents. This time I'm just going to replace it. Thanks for your help. Any other ideas, just for giggles?

If the wire(s) is cut/shorted, ECU swap will not hlp, bad joke. Whatever the case, u must anyways reach unto the connector... its better to measure, before buying, the resistance for those two wires between coilpack connector-ECU. Use extension wire & dmm, check your ECU pins for no.5 from suggested link.
