Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
like it says here are some pictures of my buddies b series he just got yesterday (tuesday) and the install we did. it was our first b series swap but wasnt that much harder than the d series. it was fun. i think he got one of the cleanest motors out there. he got it from HMO so its pretty good i guess. hope mine can be just as clean and quik. let me know what you think. thanks oh and he got the hasport setup with the motor so that should be even better

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
did he keep his a/c?? ive been reading from some ppls pages that they have to take theirs out. I've been reading manuals and all kinds of junk to hopefully gain some knowledge on swapping, but all my friends discourage me and say its gonna be too hard. i keep telling them itll drop in and that i wont have to beat my engine bay but i just need some guidance

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
thats true. they are just as easy. and for the holw keeping a/c. my friend would never keep it because he would always be missing that extra power. even if it isnt that much. and as for useing it. im most positive that all you would need is a adapter plate from hasport to keep your d series compressor on and it will work great. check out the web site. www.hasport.com

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
eh i might as well take it out for the 3 hp or whatever i get lol..180 bucks for the ac mount isnt worth it to me. So when im removing my engine should i just take out the whole a/c compressor and cap off the lines? this will discharge the gas correct?

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
yep. remove one off the caps off the hose and there should be a nosle like the end of a bike tube. the part you put the air into. just press that down and it should come out. remove all lines and you good. and i agree on the mount being so expensive. i live in the middle of the desert. it gets up to 117 degrees here and i dont have it.

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
Yeah well, I want my a/c...dammit! You do have to buy the bracket from hasport..OR, you can get one from a del sol vtec, which would be hard but I saw one once..only once, for $5 on ebay. You do have to beat your bay a little bit though, just on the rail on the left side for the alternator pulley to clear, its just a small dimple and no big deal. And man, that engine looks HUGE when its not in the car.

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
would this ac bracket work..im kinda hesitant to take it out but i really dont use it since id rather drive with the windows and the sunroof open..it says its from a d series tho..
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/93-97...63215131QQrdZ1 heres a b series one..would i need a new compressor or just use the d series one.. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda...spagenameZWDVW i cant wait for my engine to get here, not driving the crx has deprived me lately. My buddy with a mustang at work wont know what hit him..he just got racing stripes and a new paint job so i keep jokin with him about his hp gains

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
Really before doing a swap, take your car to a shop and have the freeon recovered from your a/c system the correct way. That shit is real bad for the ozone and you can get very large fines for venting it to the atmosphere.
And besides for banging clearance for the alternator, you have to bang the lip on the rear crossmember where the mount bolts to it or else your gonna have some problems once you start driving it.

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
oh yeah. read that and completly forgot to answer it. you will have to make alternator clearence no big deal tho. and it is recomended (dont know if its needed) to modify the rear crossmember. you just hve to bang the end down a little. just go to hasport.com and look for the instructions page it will have a list of all the cars they do stuff for. go to 88-90 crx. then find the link next to it that says std/dx-bseries or somthin really close to that. but yeah frodo i will post pics of a good burnout with smoke or just some cars behind in a race.

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
Foosh, niether of those brackets will work, the first one is from a del sol, but one that had a d16 engine, you need one from a del sol vtec..which is why its so hard to find. The second one is from a newer civic and the compressor is not the same, if Im wrong then shoot me..But I am dead sure on the del sol.

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
If your engine came from an SIR then yeah you sure could, thats thebracket thats meant to go into a crx with that engine. If its from an XSi then I dont believe it will match up to the compressor.

Re: Pics Of My First B Series Swap.
The b series compressor is not the same, the lines wont mount to it..
