what do you think?

okay....ive got a 96 civic dx...y7 enigine still....and my car had sat for sometime and now im driving it again and its reving funny
it keeps reving up and down...couldnt say what RPM's cause i dont have a tach hooked up..but its real annoying and i think it chewing up my MPG...what im thinking is that ive got some sort of a vacuum leak or something...even for specifiac i think its my MAP sensor that has gone bad......idk....i need to get another one the be sure....
anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

Is the check engine light on? If so, run it for codes - a bad MAP sensor would make the CEL turn on.

Fluctuating RPM is usually sign of a vacuum leak, if you pop the hood while the car's running, you might be able to hear a hissing sound from a hose or somewhere (revving the engine helps). Replace vacuum hoses if needed, they're dirt cheap.
