Problem on bolt up turbo engine 4g63

i own a galant 4g63 sohc engine with an auto gearbox. 6 mths ago i bolt on a td-04 however several problem arises.

The engine compartment has become hotter than before and even hotter than my another turbo car.
The manifold become bright red after 2 rounds.
Now, i am trying to use the same engine but a change of piston, head (twin cam) and the use of 4g64 block. Also, i gonna change my ecu to haltech e6k( used ecu) and change to evo turbo with maximum boost.
Now, i wonder if my gearbox can withstand if its close to 300 hp?
and whats the problem with the brighten red manifold? ( will it burn out the rubber inside the engine compartment)
My exhaust piping is 1.5 inch. SHould i widen it up?

Re: Problem on bolt up turbo engine 4g63

on ANY turbo car, your exhaust should NEVER be less than 2.25" and that is a BARE MINIMUM. 2.5 inches to 3 inches is recommended. Good luck w/ the 4g64 setup, i've heard it is a fair amount of work to get that done.

I also doubt that your slushbox is going to hold very much power, might be b/c it is older, and mostly cuz it is a mitsu slushbox. I would recommend if you plan on continuing your project furthur that you should get a bulit transmission. If you plan on being happy with it, find a transmission that will match the 7bolt that you have in there(i'm fairly confident all 4g64's are 7 bolt)

What kinds of supporting mods do you have done already?

Re: Problem on bolt up turbo engine 4g63

to my knowledge most online sponsorships where you pay money, never work. and those people that get sponsorships (full or part) usualy have done a CRAP LOAD of work already to make it show-worthy/ race-worthy and if sponsored for racing, they have already proven they are a worthy driver.

good luck getting sponsored though, if you do get sponsored, you have to remember that they own you.

widen up the exhaust system though, and if you don't already have a turbo ECU , then get one if you have a 4g63. what year / engine is your galant? the title says 4g63, and you said 4g64. you do kno that those are fairly different engines right? If you are confused as to what direction to go next, try getting on the 3g eclipse forum www.club3g.com since all GS/RS eclipses of that generation have the 4g64. Otherwise if you have a 4g63 sohc...? then dsmtuners.com should have most of the info you need.
