Re: PS2 tourist trophy

Yep, a friend got it and I can't stop invading his house and playing it. I'm getting it next Monday for my birthday....

Only thing I dislike is how, like Gran Turismo, it likes to prevent "hooliganism" and feathers the clutch like mad if you rev it up at idle then take off

You can still very easily wheelie bikes like the R1 and such, but there are bikes such as the NS250R which you should be able to wheelie, and can't.

Other than that, it's my #1 game at the moment.

For PS3, Polyphony should combine Gran Turismo and Tourist Trophy.......

Re: PS2 tourist trophy

yeah i've had it for a month or two now. i think it's pretty good. the controls are kind of tough between shifting, crouching, and having to control the front and rear brakes independently, it takes some getting used to, but it's defintely a fun game. i'd recommend it to anyone with a PS2.

Actually, brake (down on the stick) seems to apply both front and rear. The rear is also independently controllable, however. Also, you can set your rider to automatically tuck on the the straights (when the bike is standing up, anyways)

Re: PS2 tourist trophy

we always get the good stuff late.

it looks really good and all the reviews give it full marks.

as i hated motogp because i couldn't keep the bike upright, how does this compare. is it really hard to control or is there the option to make it easier.

i'm a cheat fan. don't like playing unless i can win. with gt i'd get the quickest car allowed and bump others off or use the walls. but with this game i think that won't be allowed.

It's very easy to keep upright...as expected, the bikes have a natural tendency to stand upright while you're on the power - you have to push them into a lean in the turns. You can fall off, but only if you try leaning in the grass, hit some large bumps while in a full lean, or crash hard or something.

It's not quite as easy to "cheat" in Tourist Trophy as in Gran Turismo, but it is do-able...for instance, on the Motegi Super Speedway (oval more or less), I found myself keeping the bike floored for the turns and just wedging my tires in the corner between outer wall and track. Zoom

How about MFNO... as in MF NO!!!

Cause I know how you work... you will practice day and night on it, and then I'll come over and try to figure it out and you'll come in and find some way to snipe me in the head or something equally stupid like beating my ass at my own game on my own console.

No way, Jose.

Re: PS2 tourist trophy

I like the game a lot. Only nitch i have about the game is its rather unrealistic braking when cornering.

And also that clutch featuring stuff from a launch...........I hate that. Its like they all have traction control.....I can hardly manage a 4second 0-60 on even the fastest liter bikes.

Yeah, very similar to Gran Turismo, it semi-allows you to correct your line by braking mid-corner...try that in real life

Re: PS2 tourist trophy

Ain't gonna happen, the car will lose the bike in 1st corner, and if the bike is 1000, you're going to end up making the lost ground on the straights. Lesser skilled guys are going to fall off from car swiping each other.

I played the game, it's fun, although difficult at first and unrealistic as far as braking and drifting (or lack there of) goes.

Btw Aussie, your bike is there too, you just have to unlock through some level. I never bothered to, it was rental and I could just use the Aprilia Mille(lower HP with lowest setting) to beat it. . CBR1K is an awesome bike though, in the game that is.
