Re: Remote Start questions...
DONT DO IT MAN! Lol I speak from experience, I put a viper remote start alarm in my crx, and they were supposed to wire a kill wire from the e-brake, to the wre that goes to the distributor, so if the parking brake wasnt engaged, the ground wouldnt work for the remote start..... uhhmmmm yea didnt quite work out that way. First night I had the car back wasn't thinking and... hit the 2 buttonson the remote and I heard... VVRRRMMM.... SKRRRTT SKRRRT SKRRRRT CRASHHHHHH! Walked outside my apt and low and behold, my crx was ATOP of a A/C handler... and funny thing is that it keeps trying to restart until the engine idles so yea my car was on 3 wheels and turned that A/C handler into a crushed soda can looking contraption... luckily for me got in the car, slammed it in reverse, and my car slammed to the ground and I hauled ass out of there. The A/C repair people were there a couple days later and just out of curiosity asked the guys what happened.... they said some drunk dumbass ran over the cement parking stopper and ran into the handler... I asked how much it was to replace, they said about 5,000 bucks... do you really wanna be liable for that? Also a problem I have en countered with having my clutch switch defeated like that is.... nobody will work on your car, shops see the remote start and the clutch switch defeated and so noooooo way, they dont want the liability... a couple things for ya to think bout before ya go installing that remote start in a manual tranny vehicles... its against the law for a reason
