Pulling Door Panels in 96 Prelude SI

Alright, so recently my last car was totalled.
I had a decent setup in it, but now have a new car... Its a bit trickier to get speakers in...
My only problem really is with getting the door panels off. I need to change out the door speakers on the front, and I'm not sure how to tackle it.

Im mainly curious in if the door panel is one piece, or if it splits at the bottom so the bottom section is just one piece.

Idk.. I really yank out those damn speakers.

I have 2 Alpine Type R 6 1/2" to replace them with.
The back has 2 Apline Type S 6 1/2"
Yea, andsome other neat stuff i have laying around.

take out the screw by the door handle, the screw in the little cup thing, then the screw by the mirror and the srew by the lower left corner. then it just pops out but it takes alot of force which makes it feel like its not completly unscrewed but it is just needs force. and yes it is all one piece.

Thanks man... I decided since I have some extra cash around I'm gonna have the stereo shoppe put them in. I need a custom fit for them anyway because the alpines are deeper and fit differently. itll only cost about 100 bones.. I hate paying someone, but I dont the time/tools to do it myself.

sounds good man and yea there is like no room for speakers in the door so it is just easier to have a shop deal with those problems.

Re: Pulling Door Panels in 96 Prelude SI

Yea... also, if you can reply quickly to this.. i'm making another thread for it just in case.. But do you know what the spesker wire colors mean for the back 2 speakers...

The back right sides colors are a gray with a white stripe and a blue with a white stripe..

The back lefts colors are a brown with a white stripe, and a red with a white stripe... im hooking up some pretty permenant cables and need to know if I'm safe to bet the darker colors (the grey and brown) are the grounds and the lighter colors (red and blue) are the powers.

Thanks

Re: Pulling Door Panels in 96 Prelude SI

i redid my speaker wire with brand new wire so i cant really remember which was pos and neg but you can use a dmm to figure it out. also you can just plug them up to the speaker and see if the speaker goes out or in if it goes out first its correct but if it goes in first the wires are swapped.

I'd say the easiest thing to do would to just use a test light on the wires. If it lights up when the powers on you know it's the positive wire. If it doesn't... it's the ground.
