sohc vtech cam in dx motor

i was talkin to some guy last night and he said that you can put a sohc cam in a dx motor and adjust the timing a lil and you can make it to where it's like the vtech is always on. is this true or just some bs?

BS. the two heads are different, rocker arm assemblies are not alike, and if the DX engine doesnt have VTEc, adding a cam is not going to give it Vtec alone.
