12volt lighter out?

well i wanted to plug numerous things like a phone charger in my 12volt but it isnt working? ive tried in my parents cars and it works but for some reason it is not in mine.... any help would be great thanks

btw its a 94 lebaron gtc convertible

Well, first I would say check the fuses. Other than that, take out the ash tray and see if the connections are good.

Grrrr well a few days ago someone cut my top!!! and broke in and they couldnt find anything to steal so they cut those wires in the compartment on the left of the wheel...... i checked all my lights and they worked so i wasnt sure wat those did..... is that wat is affecting it???

I'm always afraid of somebody cutting my top open....for the simple fact that a new one would cost me $500...it is a good possibility that those cut wires are your problem.

Not knowing where they cut, I'll tell you where my leads ran. For the lighter, it was along the right side & then up to the left, in the stereo cluster. When my LeBaron was stolen, they yanked out the stereo & when possible, just cut wires. So I had to trace them back to the various pieces, stereo harness head piece, as well as the lighter. The lighter wire colors are red & black. The stereo (I believe) is striped, but I haven't looked at it in years. If you use a harness/adapter, the colors will be the same, which will eliminate stereo hook ups.

Check your fuses as well, replace them after, you connect the wires. I charge my phone & haven't had a problem. hope this helps.
