Changing idle speed
My 93 3800 when warm/hot will idle very slowly, to the point where it seems like it wants to stall. It doesn't, but the van shakes to the engines shaking. If I rev up by 50-100 rpm the engin runs smooth with out the shake. Is there a quick fix to have the engine idle just a little faster when warm/hot?
Thanks. |

Re: Changing idle speed
Idle is controled by the Idle Air Control Valve. IAC valve.
Yours could be faulty. Might be worth removing the IAC valve from the throttle body and cleaning it with Carb Cleaner to remove all the gunk. Especailly make sure the pintle at the end is spotless. Paul Taylor. UK |

Re: Changing idle speed
Sorry for my poor response.
Where is this IAC you speak of, and how easily is it done? |
