Question '89 Repair/Shop Manual

Hello, I've got an '89 Cherokee Laredo that's in pretty good shape, but she could be better -- I was shopping for a repair manual, and all the choices made me dizzy. I was hoping for some advice.

I really need two things:

1) Complete wiring diagrams/circuit schematics -- because a bit of the electrical system has just decayed over 17 years, and also I need to troubleshoot some intermittent blinker problems.

2) A comprehensive diagram of the "emissions control" apparatus -- the "emissions maintenance" light was on when I bought it, and it appears that a number of small air hose connections are missing from what I assume to be the emissions sensor. I'd like to get that straightened out.

I'm just a poor college kid, and it's a big deal for me to shell out $100 for the official shop manual. Is it possible to find what I'm looking for from Haynes or Chilton's? Is there a difference when it comes to those "Wrangler/Cherokee/Wagoneer" books as opposed to those that are exclusively "Cherokee?"

I very much appreciate your assistance.

Re: '89 Repair/Shop Manual

Hayne's manuals are pretty good but when you are looking for very specific information about your model vehicle especially the electrical system they suck. The best book is the factory service manual for your year and model which if you search this forum for fsm you will prolly find links to websites where it can be downloaded at.

If you search the forum for "FSM" (factory servive manual) you'll find links to various web sites where you can download one for a '88. I also have a Haynes.
