Hi! I am new to the Forum, and think it is great to have this much information readily available. However, I tried searching for information regarding replacement of my front Brake Hoses, but no related threads appeared.
I bought my Blazer new in 1994, and after 197,000 miles, I want to replace the front brake hoses. After removing the passenger side hose, I was surprised to find that the brake line and hose on my vehicle was a finer thread than the new replacement Raybestos hose. I then tried a different brand hose, but it too had a different metric thread than my line. Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so - what brake hoses do I need to purchase that will mate with my brake lines? I certainly hope it won't mean "Dealer Only" item! Any help with this will be greatly appreciated! |

Re: 1994 S-10 Blazer 2WD Front Brake Hoses
Welcome to Automotive Forums DB62
![]() Several parts stores will make you new lines up as you wait. It usually takes them less than 5 min. You'll have to bring the hose in the shop, where they'll go through their selevtion of parts and figure something out. Good Luck |

Thank you for the suggestion! It may have to come to that. However, I would like to believe that since my Blazer still has the original hoses, exact replacements must be available somehow. I am hoping someone else ran into this same problem, and knows a brand name/part number to call for. Thanks again!

Good luck in your search
By all means try getting factory replacement, but don't be entirely suprised if you can't find them. From what I've seen the factory ocasionally makes a little mistake and improvises a part to make it work. |

Great... for them, that is - but lousy for the consumer! Hopefully someone else has had this same issue and can help. Thanks again!

Re: 1994 S-10 Blazer 2WD Front Brake Hoses
I hear you. My mom's Nissan pickup needed some bearings modified for the rear differential because it appears that the factory installed a flawed unit and had the bearings made to fit.
That was an expensive venture. We tried 3 different sources hoping that the bearings were packaged wrong. |
