I lost my job, and the reasons they told me were made up. This is insane.

The clash begun about 5 months ago, I was accused to telling another female staff member, to her face, that I thought she had P.M.S. This was NOT true, and no matter how much I defended my self, they didn't want to know.

About a month later, I was accused to saying to a Duty Managers face, and I quote: "I do not want to do ashtrays for 8 fucking hours". This didn't happen.

I was told, on friday, that Zoe, the Gaming (I work in a club) Area (pokies) Team Leader (person who is in charge) asked me to do something, I refused and said "because I'm a man", This is not only bullshit, but they documented this crap, and is half the reason I got fired, because I don't do anything.

I can't prove my innocence, and as much as they REFUSE to prove me that I did it, by that, actually refused to show me the documentation that this allegedly occured, they refuse to put me on the roster, hence forth forcing me to quit because they can't legally fire me. In a sence, I have been fired.

My theory, which is almost proven:

We have Duty Managers, on weekdays we have 1 on, weeknights monday-thursday we have 1 on. Friday and Saturday nights we have 2-3 on for obvious reasons. They are incharge of whats going on, and incharge of the staff and oversea the club. Then there are Team Leaders, normal workers like us, but have a higher responsibility, they oversea the workers and we always have a team leader on, they are the staff's boss and oversea specific parts of the club. Then there are the workers. Us.

The theory:

Team Leaders are forever trying to impress the Duty Managers, and also the management to gain them "repuation" as being hard working "potential future leaders", they will do ANYTHING to get there. Inncluding backstab them selves to get a head over the other people.

But they can't backstab them selfes, and they are not going to get promoted by just "doing a good job". Doing a good job where I work[ed] is like pissing your self in a dark suit, you get a warm feeling inside but no one notices. They get promoted by picking out the bad apples, so they made shit up about me (its painfuly obvious), and got me fired, because although they can't prove it, they sure as hell can control it, now they are seen as the "gods" because they are so good they can forsee the good workers, and the bad. I was NOT a bad worker.

I never complained, I was always enthusiastic, I loved my job. I really fucking did.

4am finish? Who cares? I love my job, and I always went home sweating from exhaustion. Always.

I loved working there, and I was warned within a few weeks of me working there that I will get backstabbed. It is a reality.

This sucks.

that's fucked, can't you take a legal route in that? if they effecitvely fired you isn't there some way of forcing them to show the documentation and/or prove that you said what you allegedly did?

No, because our leader Mr. Howard made it insanely easy for employers to sack bad workers, all my work had to do was made up some crap to back up their shit that I was a bad worker and bye-bye job. It's a legal loop hole.

Besides, if this shit has happened I can't go back there.

Dude I know what you mean. In Arizona, they have this law called "Right to Work" law. Meaning they always hire ppl but they have to fire ppl and they dont have to give you a reason. Its bullshit but thats the law.

Fark, in NZ it's hard for an employer to just sack someone on the spot. They have to jump through all the fucking loops otherwise it's illegal.

I know someone who got sacked very illegaly for the most bullshit reason as well.

While it sucks to be fired for bullshit reasons, I don't see why its the governments job to give you job security. The one that pays the bills should make the call on who gets paid.

lol i got fired and was in a union cause the leader wanted his son to work my spot. i sued of course and lost but the union lost the job contract due to shady practices.

Yogs that is a crock of shit and you know it. The one that pays the bills? I am one of the ones that pays the bills at my company. I get billed at $80+ per hour, plus travel. I get paid less than $30 an hour to perform a service (IT Tech). I am the one paying the bills, and I can assure you I don't get to call shit, because I'm not management.

Many companies have management who are absolutely shit, making calls like this every day.

I'm very much agreed, if someone gets fired, it's not the governments problem, it's a problem between the employer and the employee. Davo should be seething at his shithead employer, not Howard (Honestly you Aussies must have NO confidence in your Labour party whatsoever, I mean you've voted this clown in 12 years running even though the majority of the people hate him). At the end of the day it's thier company and they can run it as they want, the government should not be interfering in private matters such as these. If they want to run the pub like dickheads, then the karmic circle will close and they'll be bitten on the bum when the place is crawling with retards.
