Re: building up

Ummm what does this have to do with street racing? Not to be an asshole, but I suggest you read the stickies at the top of each section of the board you post in.

Well anyways, before this gets moved/closed, I'll help ya' out.

The question you asked was very very broad. All you really told me is that you don't want a "gay ricer". Well, what do you consider a "gay ricer"? Some consider a ricer a car with extraneous neons/wings/stickers/etc. with no real performance mods. And other consider a ricer to be any import regardless of brand or level of performance. So maybe you should clarify what you mean by "gay ricer".

Second, you might want to clarify how much money you want to spend in the beginning. Probably the biggest determining factor when trying to choose a car is how much you are willing to spend. If we all had a bajillion dollars to spend, the Ferarri and McLaren sections of this board would be much more popular . So you might want to tell people your budget for your new car.

Third, what do you consider "bulletproof"? I could probably shoot my dad's Colorado with a .22 and it would still run, do you consider that bulletproof. But in all honesty, you should clear that up. I'd consider an 03/04 Cobra or an MK4 Supra bulletproof because they can both handle high horsepower on stock parts.

Fourth, what do you think looks good? Don't let other people tell you what looks good because we all have different opinions. Some people think they're Geo Metro's look good and Mustangs are ugly as hell, and vise versa.

So basically, this thread is to posting as George Bush is to a Presidency

Better luck next time!

Re: building up

well Ricer I mean teh crappy wing, sticker with a exhaust crap on the car. basicly a honda and such is what I call a gay ricer.

Well im not looking for something new so 30k is out of deal. 15k is about the most i'll spend and I dont really like the look of ferarri's.

By bulletproof I mean what you mean, capable of hadling alot of power without ripping the whole car into pieces.

and bush for presidency well thats not hard.

also I posted that in street racing because its what im looking for. a great street racer.

Re: building up

15K is alot of money. put it as a down payment man. Get you anything you want and mod up.

G35
350Z
Mustang GT
GTO
Charger R/T
Cobalt SS
STI
EVO

the possibilities are endless.

Now on a philisophical note. Whats up with all these kids asking us to choose thier car for them. Seriously this is the second thread this week someone asks what we think is thier best choice.
I think that in a world where we are governed, monitored, obliged and coursed to do everything the only real freedom we have is that to make our own choises.
You cant consider yourself a true car enthusiest if you dont feel the passion, the burn, the fervor that calls out to you and tells you what to drive.
Me for example, its more then just about speed for me. I want a car that suits me well. It has to be a sports car rather then a sporty car. like a Corvette vs. Evo deal. I want the 2-door. it has to be able to nail you to the sides on the corners, lots of lateral Gs. Im Latin so I also need that burning latin passion that a Ferrari or a Pagani offers, that almost x-rated naughty type of car that excites women. I want a car that i can sit a girl in, rev it and make her feel the vibration shoot up her loins! Viva la passion!
I didnt choose my cars, they chose me!

so yeah I dont know how you guys can look at cars and not say "there, that one, that one is the one that was built for me."
you kids are just going by whats faster, what can beat my friends cars, what can I get for cheep that will make them envy me.
And that is a darn shame because you are stripping the automobile of what it truly is.....a mechanical expression of your soul.

GTO!

I would love a Mustang GT, a GTO, a newer Camaro or anything. I just love cars so much I cant make my mind up. If I could I would buy one of each. Hell even two or three with different colors if I could.

I could buy this http://www.autoseller.ca/trader/resu...1&vid=20130513 drop in a TT and be happy but im looking for a bit more original.

...

fox body stang, i think they look good and it's not some "gay ricer" they are fast for cheap

for less than 15k you can also find a stock or modified Camaro Z28 in the most recent generation

300ZX TT's

Supra TT's (might be a stretch)

Evo 8 RS (might be a stretch, but i saw some for 16k)

i don't kno, why don't you look around, tell us what you like, come back and ask our opnions on which is better

remember, it's better to own the car your racing outright, that means more money you can throw at it!

you named most of my list right there exept the Supra where the cheapest I found was 29k and the 200ZX where I havn't seen any in a LONG time.

alright well if I lowered to 10k whats still available?
I like Mustang's but a Camaro would kick ass too.
Ok im decided.

Mustang or Camaro?

Re: building up

VR4 mabye. You can put them in twelves in the 1/4 for only a few hundred bucks in mods. Otherwise all of the above would work as well.

Re: building up

This is what im looking to build up within 2 to 3 years.

A nice sleeper running in about 500hp & tq on dyno with or without turbo.
I really love all cars and muscle cars exept the crappy ricer's. Those are my last 2 choices.

Z28 Camaro or Mustang GT. Whats your pro and con on both... I do plan on checking both out.

Re: building up

ls1 forever

i must say around here in the "wheels n deals" (a while back) i saw a 1994 300ZX TT modded w/ 400whp for about... 14k or so. Supras are at 29k? i didn't kno that, last i checked i could find them for about 20k or less.

but anyways, seriously a LS1 is what you want, then Save for a TT kit on it, and kick ass, the Z28 is supposedly better than an SS b/c of the ease of suspension install for drag applications, where the SS is better for road races. But then again, i'm just a mitsu guy, what do i kno?

DSM's aren't bad, you won't see those 500whp numbers but w/ an AWD setup, you'll see the 500 whp times w/ about 150 less whp

and fair warning, anything that anyone thinks is a sports car (camaro, TA, mustang, Turbo DSM) is not going to be a sleeper, so good luck passing that one off. A sleeper would be considered a hyundai, dodge caravan, geo metro, buick regal supercharged or turbo (debadged), or a 3g eclipse. Those are cars that are never considered fast
