1991 Celica GT motors
Im looking at a 1991 toyota celica, i want to turn it into a turner, but sadly i dont know much about toyota motors. Are there any good aftermarket performance motors i can buy for this car? and what are their base hp. Ill most defently be working on this motor and putting at least a 16G turbo in it. Please help out so i know if I should buy this car or not. Thanks

Re: 1991 Celica GT motors
what kind is it, st or gt/s
st 103hp 103 lbs gt/s 130 140lbs there is the 3sgte, with is potentially the most powerfull 4 cyl engine ever created for a gt/s for a celica st theres the supercharged 4agze and 20v 4age for all those engines they botl RIGHT in, no motor mount fabrication needed, just alot of wiering

Yea its a celica GT the stock engin is the 2.2L. The engin in it right now has over 200k miles and im defently going to replace it when i buy it. What type of base horsepower does the 3sgte engin put out? the 3sgte would fit into a 1991 with out any motor mount mods? i only ask because 91's are pretty old.
Also i was wondering if a Toyota Supra 2JZGTE(FR) would fit into the 91 celica, or would there need to be alot of changes to the motor mounts? Thanks |

Re: 1991 Celica GT motors
no a 2jz will not fit (well it will, but massive modification would be needed, there has even bee na V8 celica, plus there is no tranny that would work for it even if you could get it in there)
the 3sgte is putting out 225 hp for a 2nd gen jdm, witch is most likely what your going to find, nope no mouter mount mods, and you can use your 5sfe transmission on it, but theres ALOT of wiering and its kinda a pain in the ass
