Exclamation Need help on removal of front fender my 91 s10 blazer

Hello all.
I am new to this forum. First I would like to say, this is a great site that I have happened to find.
Now to my Q: I have a 91 s10 blazer. the right front fender is crunched up. I bought another fender cheap thinking, well i think i can do it myself. Do I have to take the inner fender well off first? anyone that has done this I could sure use your insight.
Look forward to hearing from someone.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Automotive Forums jp1m

It's an easy job, and you just made it easier by buying a new fender ahead of time.

Take the new fender out to the truck, pop the hood and open that door.
You'll have to remove both wiper arms, which I found to be the hardest part. I used a big flat screwdriver and put it under the retaining clip. Twisted the screwdriver to pop it up.
remove the panel under the wipers (4 bolts if I remember corectly.

Now take a look at the new fender, and take note where all the empty bolt holes are. Remove only these bolts and the fender will pop right off.

You'll probably break some of the clips. You can use a simple 1/4" bolt and nut for some of them, but you'll need the clips for some as well.

Thumbs up Re: Need help on removal of front fender my 91 s10 blazer

Thanks so much OverBoardProject for the quick responce and welcomeing. I now have a new home page and this forum is it. I am heading outside to getr done. Good to hear that I don't have to remove the inside fender wall. I was told that I would have to take the hood off also. First DIY project for my blazer, but she's a keeper in my book. I will let you know how I come out.
Thanks again.

Re: Need help on removal of front fender my 91 s10 blazer

Well...I have finnally got the fender on after many against the wall.
I must say. Thanks to this forum. OverBoardProject. Thanks for the help.
You where right about the windshield wipers being a pain in the....
All I have to do now is put the grill and bumper on.....
It's a great feeling knowing that I did it myself
Instead of posting a thread Q i thought i would try here first....
All is well but now in the process I see that my hood cable broke right at the end where it hooks to the hood.....
Does anyone have a quick fix idea for this???????????????
if not...How do you go about installing a new one?????
thanks in advance.

Re: Need help on removal of front fender my 91 s10 blazer

When they break I just use a long screwdriver on the clip that the cable slips on. I place the screwdriver on this clip and strike the handle.
It's an easy fix. If I remember corectly about 15 min and you can't really mess up.
Just pull the old 1 out and install the new one in the same spot.
They should be really cheap throught the wreckers, although you'll have to pull it
