sad sad sight

today I drove by a talon about a block away from my house which was odd because there arent hardly any dsms around my area. Anyway I saw two words on the right side of the rear bumper so I knew it was a tsi awd and it was just sitting there. I was riding with my buddy at the time and when I said it was awd he gets this weird look on his face and was like "thats not really awd is it?" He said that yesterday he saw it being towed on one of those trailers that you put the front wheels of the car on, and I was like uhoh. Then on my way home there was a flatbed infront of the house to pick it up people really need to learn

Re: sad sad sight

The very first night I drove my talon after getting it running the car died in the middle of an intersection (turned out the battery came loose). I had to leave the car on the side of the road with no plates, registration, insurance. The cops called the tow company and the guy came with a regular tow truck, luckily he saw the AWD sticker and came back with a flatbed. So luckily there was no damage done thanks to that little sticker.

Re: sad sad sight

Lucky for Talons they have the AWD sticker. I helped my gf bring groceries up to her apartment and came back to my car with a tow truck trying to get a good position on my car. It was literally about 4 minutes. I looked at the guy and asked him what he was doing and he says "Easier for me" and took off. I was actually questioning the 2 wheel tow but it worked out in the end.

Re: sad sad sight

Yeah most people dont know the front wheels turn with the back, i mean people like grandmas and stuff.

What did the tow truck driver mean by "easier for me"?
Like he didnt care it be bad for you but was doing it because it was easy for him?

Easier like he didn't have to do the work of towing my car since I showed up. I was not parked in the most "tow-friendly" way. He had no clue what GSX meant or what damage he was about to cause.

Re: sad sad sight

Can someone sue (misspelled) a tow company if they don't use a flat bed when it comes to an AWD? I mean any damages, the tow company would have to be responsible.

Sue is spelled correctly. No, generally car's are towed at the owners risk so basically if they screw up your car, you shouldn't have been parking there to begin with.

I saw a new turbo porsche being towed in downtown Boston. When they were pulling it up on to the flatbed, the scraping and cracking sound of the car being bottomed out while going up was awful. "Owner's fault" though. It really is a BS system.

Re: sad sad sight

If you are parked in the wrong spot, there is no reason that a tow company can damage your car and get away with it. Ok if it bottoms out and theres some scraping, then what else are they suppose to do. But towing an AWD without a flat bed is just retarded and if they do this then they aren't doing there job right cause I'm sure they aren't aloud to damage the car are they? So if the tow guy can get the car to go up on the flatbed and he gets mad and sends his hand through the drivers side window of you car, he's not responsible because if you weren't parked there then he would have never been there and your window would have never been broke, there for he gets away with it? Fucked up system.
