Unhappy Sadly the time has come...

Hey guys whats up? Well Its kinda sad since it looks like im going to have to let my car project go, since im about to graduate and go over sea's. But before I put her up for sale, just want to see what its worth before I put a price on it. THIS IS NOT A CLASSIFIED!!!! but i dont know if this was the right section to put it, but it is an EF

But here it goes...
Basic Stuff:
CRX HF1991
White(Car is on its 1st coat of Primer (Grey) (Was prepping for paint job, Also Car was kept in the garage so no rust would form from the snow/salt.) Car still needs more prep work to get it ready for paint job, but nothing too big.)
180,XXX Miles on Chassis
Fenders were rusted out but I replaced them with D1 style fenders (Fiberglass) not too rice, but nice looking. I have a passenger side fender sprayed painted black.

Engine:
Swapped to a D15b Vtec (Roughly 35 to 45,XXX miles), 5-Speed Manual CRX 91 SI Transmission (64,XXX miles), new Axels, Excedy Stage 1 clutch kit & Flywheel, Front HF hubs were changed to 91 CRX SI (needed for tranny spline count.), Upper & Lower Control arms ball joints were replaced new, control arms, Conversion from OBD-0 to OBD-1, P28 ECU.

Mods: Mostly New Parts unless stated: Megan racing stainless steel header 4-2-1 Header, Header gaskets, AEM Short ram intake, 02 sensor, Water pump, NGK spark plug wires, NGK Spark plugs, Distributor cap and rotor, Alternator belt, Optima Red Top battery, All fuses were replaced, KOYO OEM Radiator, Catalytic converter & gaskets too, Espelir JGT500 exhaust system (not a loud fart annoying coffee can, this is a low tone exhaust, sounds like a mini Subaru WRX exhaust, comes with silencer as well. 4040 proportion valve and rear disc brakes conversion. (used, old one rusted away)Rear bumper support, rear bumper cover, Rear Trunk hatch struts, front amber corners lights, B&M short sifter, ES shifter bushings, B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator, B&M Fuel Gauge, new fuel filter. (Not installed) An MSD Complete Ignition kit, MSD 6A box, MSD Blaster Coil and Modified MSD distributor cap. Extra pair of Tie Rod ends, Front Lower Ball Joints. As well as a small box with other new/used parts included.

Only thing thats wrong with the car is 3 things.
1. Throwing code 7 (Throttle Position Sensor), It’s broken and need to be replaced.
2. Car does not have front brakes (No front brake calipers, pads, rotors, brake lines).
3. Hood does not have a hood latch so therefor does not close, But i do have NRG hood locks that will come with it.

Now with that description can you guys kinda give me a direction on what price to put on it? I know im not gonna get every penny, dollar back but just to let you know i spent $2,752.92 and thats not including what i payed for the car. (sorry i keep everything organiced and recorded lol,) So what do you guys think?

Re: Sadly the time has come...

i dont think you ever told us if it runs or not. i know you couldent drive it away bit does it have all hoses and everything to start it up when the brakes are put on? if it does start i would say its worth close to 2000 in az. dont see much crx's but there is a wrecked one with a running zc (dohc) for 1,800 so you should be close to 2 grand on that one or maybe even more. put a 2500 obo and see what people offer

Re: Sadly the time has come...

whoops yea the car does run and has all the neccesary things to function. I know since im in Chicago CRX are hard to come by time to time. But aside from that the engine turns on excelent with out hesitation/trouble at all. Only thing thats needed are the front brake stuff. I was gonna say $3000 But $2500 sounds about right.

Re: Sadly the time has come...

Pretty clean looking car ya got there sorry ya gotta get rid of it... if someone told us before hand how much we were gonna lose when we got rid of our hybrid cars, we probably wouldnt put a dime into them lol. I was considering selling my ride until I realized that I will only get back the money I paid for my swap... and not the rims, alarm, or ANY of the other work that was done to the car....muchless the 3200 I paid for the car originally, guess its true what they say, investment wise a vehicle is poor thing to put money into. My advice is, dont take the first couple offers... if you have some time before you go oversees... might want to consider parting it out... if you have some ebay experience and know how to take things apart yourself.... you could get your 3,000 desired price... with a little bit of effort.

Re: Sadly the time has come...

This is true BUT, an investment your looking to gain a return for the money you spent, when you put money into your hybrid car, chances are ya didnt know that even with a newer engine with mods and maintenence, none of that really adds any value to the car (why not by the way?). Lets say you buy a crx shell, throw a b16 in it, and make it so it runs good etc... would take about 4500 to do that... but if you try turn around and sell it shortly after... your only gonna get bout 4000 out of it, so ya lose 500 of your money that ya spent on the swap.... and u just donated the shell that ya paid for.

Re: Sadly the time has come...

true it aint no investment, and it does suck cause i was really liking my rex but who would of kept up with maintainence wise, I looked at all my options here but it was either sell the hole thing, or if worst comes to worst part it out wich i really dont want to do at all (Endagered Species Car Model).

heres the link and some pics, also note i didnt put im going overseas because im still here in the states and people will remove the ad, alot of scams go on time to time....check it out and see if its a good price...

Re: Sadly the time has come...

Shame you're getting rid of it. But that's how it goes I guess...

As for the idea of an investment, you're investing in some decent wheels so you can drive it. Haha. If you want a show car then you shouldn't be driving it everyday as a daily driver.

I paid 2500 and change for my car 4 years ago... replaced the engine with another with stock compression pistons, replaced the tranny and clutch, and a bunch of other stuff. I think it's safe to say that I've gotten my money's worth out of this car if it just up and blew up today. But I've been beating it senseless and it still keeps going. Hell, I've been beating on this car for the past 4 years and for the past say 100k miles... LOL Now that's what I call an investment.
