Re: engine light
Its it 96 and up, you need the scan tool to clear the codes. If its 95 and older, just disconnect the battery for a minute or so.
BTW, just because the code interpretation mentions a component, doesn't alweays mean thats the component that is bad. |

Re: engine light
Sometimes some of the "pros" don't know enough about modern computer controlled cars. He should have known that disconnecting the battery would clear the codes. So, do that, disconnect the battery for a couple minutes, drive it for a couple days and see if the code comes back, if it does, the problem didn't get fixed.
Like I said, just because a code interpretation mentions a component, does NOT mean to replace that component. It's easy to test a MAP sensor with a vacuum pump and volt meter. If your guy doesn't know how to do this, he's not as good as you think he is. |

Re: engine light
pull the code - http://www.differentracing.com/tech_...diag_info.html
if the MAP code is still there, check the vacuum line to the MAP sensor, and if you have the tools and skills, backprobe the sensor and check the signal with a DMM or a osilioscope. wiring can also be at fault
