Engin oil pan

Hi, I have a 1997 Lexus ES300 and I am having a little problem with a leak out of my oil pan. Does anyone know if this type of car is prone to oil leaking aroun the oil pan. The car has 86,000 miles on it. Thanks

Cool Re: Engin oil pan

No, but it's nothing more than a gasket.
Go buy a tube of Ultra Black RTV, 5 quarts of oil & a filter. Ditch the oil & filter, take the pan off. Clean the gasket material off both mounting surfaces & clean them with something alcohol based to remove the oil.

Apply the RTV, re-assemble, leave overnight & finish changing the oil the next morning.

It'll never leak again.
