4 New speakers

hi guys. I have a Clarion DXZ555 receiver with 54 wattx4 built in amp. right now i have my stock speakers on a Buick park avenue 94. The sound quality is OK, but when i put the speakers too loud, the sound is rly distorted, it gets all fudged up.

I want to get two 6x9 speakers in the rear deck (the size of the stock ones) and 2 5.250" speakers in the front doors. I am mostly looking for sub capabilites because i listen to rock, hard rock and metal. And i am not buying real subs, so.. Any suggestions? Should i buy an amp to power those 4 speakers?

Re: 4 New speakers

Buy an amp and probably for the front everyone will tell you to get a component set. And for the rear just about anything will do since you don't really stay back there if you are driving.

Re: 4 New speakers

Whats a component set?? Whats the difference between that and a 5 1/4 speaker that should fit in my car?

As for the back.. thats what will do most of the bass so..

As for an amp, i dont have money for that now, but i might buy one later.

Re: 4 New speakers

component set is a sepearte driver and tweeter.

Don't listen to him, if you go cheap (like i did) and get a crap set for the rear your sound stage will be fucked.

You need an amp for your door speakers(im runing mine off my headunit right now, sound's like SHIT)

Re: 4 New speakers

I was just saying that your rear won't cost as much as the front. Just take the price of a component set versus a good set of 6x9's. The components will cost more than the 6x9's.

Re: 4 New speakers

You can. you just won't get the same sound quality. Today, I was actually wondering if places like best buy and other places that do installs will install component sets...

Re: 4 New speakers

You already did the right thing as far as upgrading with limited resources.
You should go in this order, head, speakers, amp(s), sub.
The differences every step of the way will be very noticeable and worth it...

Explode is garbage...simple as that.
If they're your only choices, which Pioneers are you feeling...??

Re: 4 New speakers

than could you guys give me a suggestion? I dont have a big budget, but i can spend up to 100$ on those rear speakers and 100$ on the front, so give me the best buy for that price.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...PCN_BIX_Stores

two sets of those, there alright for the money (i have a set in my front doors), and you could run them off the HU untill you have get a amp for them (don't expect full potential of them from the headunit though)
