Hi,
since years the Renault Alpine A110 from Tamiya is available. Some time ago they offered the Monte Carlo-version of the kit. It is a nice little racer, but these days the wide body transkit for the Tamiya kit from www.scaleproduction.de will be available. The appearence of the Alpine changes dramatically, it looks much more powerful now. Here are some pics: These is the contents of the transkit ![]() coming with resin parts (new wide body, 2 bumpers for 2 versions, wheel-inserts), alu rings for the wheels and fire extinguisher, rubber tires, etched seatbelt hardware and fabric seatbelts, hood fasteners, alu velocity stacks, decals for 2 versions, etc. The car can be build in 2 ways (fotos from a friend, who started both kits) : the yellow ´75 Tour de Corse version with the smaller bumber ![]() and the ´74 Tour de Corse version with the huge bumber ![]() ... the unpainted body (with fine crisp details) ![]() ... the alu velocity stacks: ![]() ... the unpainted wheel ![]() It is hard to decide: yellow, blue or both??

Hi,
there is no trick, you use a paintbrush or a marker

I'm gonna stick my neck out here and say that I prefer the yellow car.

Re: Kitreview: Renault Alpine A110 Gr.4 Transkit Wide Body from Scale Production
I'm definitely a bigger fan of the yellow, however both look absolutely excellent.
The widebody shape really does define the A110. Do you have Reinhard Klein's excellent book Rally Cars? Page 199 has a very nice photo of Jean-Luc Therier sideways in the Italian hills on the way 3rd in San Remo 1975, in what looks to be a sister car to the yellow one (same yellow livery, registration only one number different). Anyway its one of my favourite rally photos ever.

Re: Kitreview: Renault Alpine A110 Gr.4 Transkit Wide Body from Scale Production
Micha,
I hate it when you do a review - I immediately feel the need to go out and buy the kit! ![]() I like the yellow livery but I also like the large bumper on the Gitanes version. Would it be sacrilage to combine the two? ![]() Very nice review BTW and congratulations to your friend!

Hi Steven, yes, you are right, I also have the impression that some people in this forum hate me for my reviews, but not the way YOU hate me . (But thatīs life, for some guys it seems to be hard to face facts )Quote:
@ 7th_skyline : No, I donīt possess the "Rally Cars" book, but I guess Iīll have to look for it in the next time. Thanks for the hint.
