Ranger Problem

Hey Gang,
I have a situation with my 2000 Ranger XLT 4x4. When I take off from a full stop the truck moves, but then drive shaft or transmission seems to delay slightly and then it feels like it engages with a slight jerk. However, when I am at full stop and remove my foot from the brake, the truck will move forward without hitting the gas. If I let it start moving slowly without hitting the gas until about 2000 rpm, it doesn't do this. It also feels this way when I come to a stop. Like the truck stops but the drive shaft or tranny wants to keep going. It also does not do this when going in reverse. The funny thing is none of this happens when the truck is cold (first start in the morning, etc,). It only happens when the truck is warmed up...after driving for awhile.

Any ideas? Is there a shifting selenoid or something that might be causing this? When driving it shifts gears easily.

Your help is appreciated.

Re: Ranger Problem

the o/d off light is the check light for the transmition. if it comes on without pushing the o/d button then you definatlly have a prob but other than that, i would say that something is starting to go just not sure what.
