how much are the different gens worth now?

ive always loved the 90 model dsm's its been a while since i sold mine and ive lost touch. then last week i saw one sitting on one of those used dealer lots, and now i want it. so in curiosity what do you guys (being the dsm gods i know alot of you are... i am not worthy) how much do you guys think the different gens... and subgens < like the 92 same body as 91 but different headlights are worth in general... then if what the cars worth is different then what you personally think ild also like to hear it. thanks guys

Re: how much are the different gens worth now?

To us of course they're worth a little more, but kbb.com will give you the answer you're looking for. I would probably never pay over $2,000 for a 1g unless it had a rebuild and some goodies. I haven't looked much into 2gs though. Basically somewhere around $1,500 for 1g turbo with decent miles.

Re: how much are the different gens worth now?

well i paid 10k for mine (see sig) with 54,000 miles and really good condition, and i felt i paid decent money for it. They are also a little bit rare in my area (Wisconsin)

Thumbs up Re: how much are the different gens worth now?

Yea most running 1g turbo's that are basically stock and w/o rebuilds go b/t a grand and 2 grand. Mine was 1500 w/ 81xxx. Good luck.

Re: how much are the different gens worth now?

If I wanted, I could dump my car off to someone for about $7,500-$8k because I'm also in Wisconsin and ANY DSM is hard to find around here, and stupid kids would eat this thing up. Just broke 70k miles this month.

I agree with the 1g estimates, I wouldn't pay more than $2k assuming decent condition and miles.

Re: how much are the different gens worth now?

They guy was asking $900 for mine (90 TSI AWD with a blown head gasket) and EDMUND65 has gotten 3 in the last couple months for like <$500 a piece. I wouldnt ever pay more than $2000 for one.

good condition 2g go for like 8500+ with decent miles, but i've seen decent 1g's go for under $3000 mostly too

Re: how much are the different gens worth now?

I got my 2g for 2k but that was because i'm awesome. I bought my 1g talon for 2k w/ 130k, my friend bought his for 2k w/ a rebuilt engine w/ 10k. They are very common in chicago and go for really cheap. You may have to travel to find what you want but keep checking site like tuners' classified and all the other car sites.

Re: how much are the different gens worth now?

I got mine for 6,500. It had a rebuilt tranny, swapped and rebuilt 7 bolt, T28 turbo, various small upgrades(exhaust, intake, safc, TT, wires, and falken tires) and excellent interior and exterior. The car had 134K miles on the body but, the rebuilt trany and motor had about 30k. I think I got an excellent deal. Oh and the guy threw in 4 650cc injectors with it haha. I live in the southern pennsylvania area. DSMs are not really that rare on the streets but, in dealerships they are almost impossible to find. I found one in a dealership with about 90k miles on it almost all stock except exhaust and a few other small things and they wanted 9,000.

Re: how much are the different gens worth now?

I had to go all the way to Callifornia to get mine because there are NONE in Washington. I probably have the only silver 2g GSX in this state. Took me over 2 years to find it too. Paid $11k, but I probably could have sold it for $14k.
