73 gran torino

all hail the ford gods, i have an inquiree. i own a 73 mercury cougar, 351c auto... you know mustang in cats clothing. the cougar is in project status now and im coming into the need for parts... drivetrain mostly. so i take to my local paper and ill be damned there is a 73 gran torino for sale. 351c auto, and its a 2 door. all for 1800 dollars. if all goes well i wont need parts, then i could have 2 investment vehicles, and restore both. im looking for opinions. should i buy? it will be mostly for parts, and if nessicary a back up cashe incase i stall out on cash or need something to exchange.

the cougar needs the motor rebuilt, tranny rebuilt, you know... the works, from a project that has been sitting for ages, and when started the seals leak like a sieve, and the pumps arent working well. its something im aware the clavelands have thin walls and any more then .030 over im getting into drivability issues. the clevland in the torino might be in better shape. or again parts.
