Power locks gone crazy
My '96 Bravada started doing something crazy yesterday. When you exit the truck, the power locks lock themselves, then unlock, and then the rear glass pops open on its own. I have also noticed the keyless entry isn't working, and I suspected the batteries were getting a little low on that lately, as I had to be within a few feet of the truck for it to work. Don't know if there's any connection there.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help. |

Re: Power locks gone crazy
do you have power seats? if so do a search on this forum using the keywords "lumbar" or "power seats". the power seats are on the same circuit as the devices you are having problems with and are subject to short circuits causing lots of intermintent problems. lots of posts and good info.

Re: Power locks gone crazy
Eric's right, check here. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ghlight=lumbar
There's power to this area at all times and a shorted lumbar wiring will be getting the relay hot even with the keyswitch off...could start a fire so disconnect those lumbar support wires quick. |

Re: Power locks gone crazy
no power locks or seats on the truck to the left <<<<<<<<<<
but it does explain why cowgirls always scoot over and sit next to their man. both doors lock from the inside, and stay locked when the door is closed, but on the '50 only the ladies side has an external key lock. the cowboy is obliged to go to the ladies side and let her in, then she has to slide over and open the drivers door to let him in. |
