Exclamation HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

okay i need help!! please please!

less than a year ago my headgasket blew. oil filled up coolant overflow. i replace hg at dealership, and it fixed it. now its doing the same thing!

ideas? someone told me it could be the turbo now, or the oil filter housing.

stock turbo, stock boost, 99 GS-T, 80k miles, manual

no smoke of anykind as of yet.

I found the paperwork. the headgasket was replaced 3,800 miles ago. and should carry a factory warrenty from mitsu for 1 year. i assume.

help

Re: HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

There should be a part and labor warranty on the work they did if they installed a bad headgasket. Also if there is something wrong it would just be best to go get it checked out now, intermix is usually tell tale sign of something seriously wrong.

Re: HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

there is a warrenty ONLY on the part via mitsu. labor is a no go becaues the dealership went out of business. for good reasons i might add

Re: HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

sadly i do believe your gonna have to have someone else pull the head off. you should make sure it comes with warranty.

Re: HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

Try a compression test to see if that shows anything.

Re: HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

yeah thats what people are telling me. cause that will tell me if its a cracked block. but i doubt that. i bet 99% its the headgasket. our cars are know for this. and if a shitty mechanic put one in then its prob it. yes i had shitty mechanics work on my car. i didn't know it at the time. but i know they put an english threaded clutch line into my salve, and striped it out. leaving me stranded.

Re: HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

I think they probably meant leakdown test more than compression.

Re: HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

An easy way to check it is from a cold start, start the car and go feel the upper radiator hose, if it gets really firm fast then you have compression going into the coolant. There are only a few places oil can get into the coolant, headgasket, cracked head, cracked block, thats it on our cars. Have you checked the oil to see if its milky at all? IMO a head gasket isnt that hard to replace by yourself and it will save you a load and you could put that money towards other mods

you forgot about the oil cooler. this wonderful little device rocks for mixing the 2 together.

never tried it but i would assume that if you clamped the coolant lines going to it and then unhooked them at the cooler you could start it and check for oil to come out. if it does then your cooler is bad, all it takes is one person cranking the oil filter on too tight.

I'm sorry this is totally off topic but are you on the wingedwarrior forum? Someone has the same avatar as you and they have a 91 tsi.

Re: HELP! Oil in coolant overflow AGAIN!

coolant doesnt go through the oil filter housing and I wasnt aware that 2gs had oil coolers let alone coolant cooled oil coolers, I for one do not have one. And thirdly if it was your turbo it would smoke like a mofo
