sequential sportshift versus manual?
ok, guys I am counting on your knowledge and expertise in the subject!!
I am a 27 yo female thinking about getting a 2002 rsx premium (canada). what are (if any) the advantages of getting a triptonic transmission (what acura calls a 5 speed "sequential sportshift" versus a manual transmission? nb what do you think of thre color desert silver metallic? thanks a millon! dejesuma |

The sequential sportshift transmission allows you to shift without a clutch. You can just move it into the gear you want (upshifting, downshifting, etc.). However, the first gear will automatically shift to 2nd if you wind it up too much. I wanted a manual transmission but they didn't offer it on the CL in 2001 (although they do now).
I never use the sequential sportshift feature. It's not really shifting and therefore not as much fun. Plus living in Phoenix, there is a lot of traffic. I've also heard of a lot of trouble with that transmission (but I think it's mostly the older models (like my 2001). The silver is a nice color for the RSX. |
