Re: Trans

I called the Ford Tech and he gave me some info.

The German T5 Mustang uses:

V6
3spd Manual: 120 SAE

V8
4spd Manual: 200 SAE
3spd Automatic Sport: 220 SAE

As for the transmission fluid in the T5 type transmission it will use one of 2 types; ATF or 70wt. I wouldn't be able to tell you the exact one unless you could give the specific tranny type(inside door panel), year and engine type.

All the Cobras that had T-5 used ATF and most(nearly all) T-5s used ATF fluid after 1985 but a few odd ones did not.

Someone could have easily imported a German Mustang and it wasn't even close to being an American Mustang in design especially the tranny.

Ford released regional and specialty Mustangs and they some times differed in their designs and specifications from others of the same time period; California Special Mustang, T5, Bullit Mustang, Windsor Mustang, Cobra Jet, 71 T-Top Mustang those are just a few.

Edit:
I am bored:
Twister Mustang, Cardinal Mustang, Mclaren M81, Mustang Trans-Am, Callisto(sp?) Mustang, Big Block Mustang, Mustang Juarez, Boss Mustangs....blah blah blah....between 1964-1978 Ford released over 100 different types of Mustangs in North America alone and somewhere close to 220 different types of Mustangs world wide. Some of those Mustangs are just body varients but others were experimental or built completely different from other production Mustangs.
