94 JETTA - electrical help needed!!
Have a 94 Jetta with an automatic that has a few electrical problems.
The speedometer doesnt work . ( the trans speed sensor was replaced) . The tachometer , horn and cigarette lighter dont work either . Have not found a bad fuse yet . Any good help would be appreciated . Could the ECM be the problem or the speedo head unit? Thanks in advance Al |

It sounds like more things are wrong than can be explained by a single fuse. Check your wiring harnesses and make sure that none of them have come loose. Odds are it would be at the main fuse box where the harnesses connect rather than on the different devices.

Re: 94 JETTA - electrical help needed!!
Dear Fellow autoforum members,
Ive found the problem for the horn . It was under the steeiring wheel . The copper contact thats on the wiper switch was broken off , so there was no contact with the steering wheel contact ring for the ground. Going to try to find a good used one tomorrow . A new one is about $40 . Used around $5 -10 . Thanks for the support. Al |
