GTO's first race...with a cop....and I got busted!

YUP, I fucking raced and undercover and got busted!
Ive been looking to pick a fight with someone for a while and so far either no one wants to run or they turn and go another direction.
Ive tryed to bait a Cadillac CTS, an S4, a bunch of 05,06 Mustang GTs and no one wants to go.

anyway today Im on my way to work riding along the Florida turnpike when I see a silver Mercury Marauder jumping on the highway. This mofo was comming up the ramp doing like 85-90 and his pipes where evil-loud! so Im like "oh hell yeah, I bet this dude will run."
I speed up to get ahead of him and Im going like 100 mph and he comes up right behind me on the passenger side. Sweet looking car, nice rims on low pros and silver pipes out the side, sweet sound too.
He matches me and I hear him rev up to jump ahead, I drop to fith and take off and we are going up to almost 120 when he gets behind me and flashes his lights and gives me a "wiihooop". freaking great! and I havent even picked up my registration from the dealer.

so I pull over, this mid to late 40s dude gets out in uniform. State trooper!
I kill the engine and put my keys ontop of my dash, lower the window and put both hands on the wheel.
trooper: Wheeeew, this thing moves!
me: yeah, sorry.....*bitting my lip.*
trooper: how long you had it?
me: about 4 weeks.
trooper: stock?
me: yes sir.
trooper: you raced her yet?
me: yeah...uh....at the track in Moroso.
him: well?
me: oh ahhh I couldnt launch it! 13.6 (bull I havent been to the track yet)
him: Shit, thats not bad at all for a stock car! where you off too in such a hurry?
me: im late to work sir, I'm really sorry.
him: well you know thats no excuse, you where moving mighty fast there.
me: I'm still trying to get used to it, I didnt think....
him: well keep it under control man, you could get yourself killed and worst....youd wreck this baby.
me: I know Im so sorry!
well we talked for alot longer, he told me he used to drive the Foxbodies back in the day when the department had them and that he transferred to some other unit and got the Marauder cause he was a ford guy. he liked the car and said that some departments where talking about using the GTOs as the next gen pursuit cars to replace the Camaros they currently use but that it probably will never happen. He also told me he'd let me go cause he didnt have a camera on his car so he wouldnt get in trouble if he just let me go but that from now on Id better watch it cause I was on "his highway".
and just like that he let me go.......FUCKING AMAZING!

yeah, ususally cops are total jackasses. marauders are almost as awesome as gtos.

you got lucky, damn. I think having the GTO with him as a muscle guy and turning off the car with the hands on the wheel helped.

damn your so lucky you were in the GTO and not the 3GT when you still had it. but yeah i feel so discriminated becasue i would've never have gotten away with that.

I saw a video that said the FLHP were starting to use hopped up Maurauders for chase cars...For that one reason alone, I will never race a Maurauder. Ever. I had a close call tonight too, got off with a warning, but good job getting away clean. You should have tested out the top end of the GTO and not stopped...

Yes, yes I am the luckiest SOB cause that could of been jail time. And as cool as it was that he let me go it was still too scary for me to laugh over it, it really shook me up.

There wont be any more close calls, seriously I'm getting one of the best radar detectors on the market so no more crap like this happens.

Yes I think it was an entrapment and I do feel like if it had been anything other then a GTO or Mustang Shelby GT he would of taken me down. .......and I love Cathrine's ass!

Yes I beat him, pulled a full car by just going from 6th to 5th.

I had no clue cops where using Marauders! gotta add that to my suspests list then.

Yeah, that Dateline special a while back on street racing said some departments are movng towards Mauraders. I dunno why, I'd just say stop painting the fucking 'Maros and Mustangs.

I also don't think in this case it would be entrapment, as the way it sounds, you initiated the race, he just followed. But then again, he doesn't have a cam in the car, so if it went to court it would be your word vs. his.
