Question WW bumper exhaust problem!

I'm hoping someone with the Wings West rear bumper can help me...

My car is in the shop getting painted and body kit put on, and when I talked to them today, they told me that when they put the rear bumper on, the exhaust (DC Sports Stainless Steel Cat-back) will be touching the bumper.

I was curious if anyone else has had this problem and what was done to solve the problem. I was thinking I could just get some different rubber hangers or something...

Thoughts?

My guess is you'll have to have the muffler moved, what's what I had to do and my room mate did too. But we have the muffler show redo the piping all the way from the cat back to 2 1/4 inch piping and adjust it to fit the new bumper. It was less that $75 at the place we went to. But that's what I would suggest.

i had the same problem. so i went to the local "muffler" shop and got bigger rubber hangers. it didn't make the exhaust sit too much lower, however, it did get the pipe from touching the bumper. it's still really close and so far no problems

Ami, did you get new hangers for just the rear of the exhaust, or for everything from the headers back?

it's only axel back...so that is the only part messed with. i don't think a full cat-back would need all new hangers either. it's really just the exhaust pack up need to angle right

If it is really close check out some WC VW mags. They have stick on heat resistant thingies to protect paint (covers burned paint/doesn't burn itself) from the heat and they look kinda cool. I have never seen them in any general import/sport compact catalogs though.
