I have a 1993 Lumina that needs a new engine and was wondering if anyone can tell me which years will interchange with my car. And if there are any cars that will interchange it will be appricated and can I take the computer out and use it in my car also. Any feedback would be appricated.

Re: interchangeable years
look at the 8th digit of your VIN, if the car has the origional engine, its safe to say that any car 1993 and up with the same 8th digit will be able to swap.

Re: interchangeable years
The ECM is the same issue, match the service numbers and swap your original prom into the new one. One note of caution. If your ECM service number is 1227727, don't bother with a used one, as that service number has a high failure rate and your chances of getting another bad one is very high. If that is your service number, you might as well get a reman unit if you suspect an ECM issue, but avoid A-1 Cardone, as there units are also problematic. Stick with AC-Delco or Standard Ign on the ECM.
