Got beat bad, just trying to keep up w/ 300ZXTT and Ninja Bike

Well I was just trying to follow some of my buddies who were driving in a 300ZXTT and a ZX7 Bike. The 300ZXTT is more then just a bolt on car. Essentially he had the entire motor redone w/ forged internals, larger turbo, etc... Basically the car is pushing well over 100whp more then mine. They both get on it from a roll on the freeway. I'm in 4th gear (I have 4.10 gearing) at around 70mph. I hammer it after hearing them both get on it. It didn't matter one bit, because they proceeded to put multiple buslengths on my car. I'd estimate that by 140 they had put a good 20-30 cars on me.

The 300ZXTT won by several car lengths, not that I could tell. I guess somehow the tires on the Z blew apart in the right front hand side. The tire looked really chewed up.

The 300ZX also smoked a STS Turbocharged 99 Z28 earlier on in the day.

I've been thinking about it alot, and man, my car just doesn't have the potential i'd like it to. I'm thinking MKIV Supra sometime around next year.

Not as much potential? A 12 sec. car= not as much potential? Well I guess compared to the supra in some respects ya...Is it not possible to s/c what you have? Or even TT it?

I would think a WS6 would have plenty of potential. Its just time for more mods. Sounds like you really got killed though. Whats that 300zx run in the 1/4?

So your friend blew a tire out on it at 140+? WOW. Everything and everybody alright?

I know what you mean. I think I've seen two nice ones here in northern Utah and neither would race. As such, I have no idea what they might be running either.

The 300ZXTT put down 520whp on race gas. I believe he is running mid to low 11's in ideal conditions.

I could turbo this car, but it still wouldn't be as fast. Adding a turbo would add around 120whp, and that ain't enough.

The tires inside rubber just came completely off (Disintegrated). He had some bald nitto drag radials up front. It didn't pop, but it was definitely a slow treck for him back home.

What's your current E.T.?

I ran a 12.73 last night (very cold) with the mods listed below.

I am hoping for over 400WHP when I install the cam + clutch and get a tune. Then it's time for a 9" rear.

I ran a 13.1 sec. 1/4 mile at 109mph, at a track that is at 2000DA, so I guess it's a 12 sec. pass. I've added the Richmond 4.10 gearing and a short stick since that pass. Should be a tad bit quicker, but I dunno. It dynos at 351whp.

Anyone wanna buy a T/A WS6 with 63K miles on it for $17K O.B.O???

I don't mean to be a dick, but it seems like you are being a bitch about this.

So you lost to a car with more mods? Big deal? For one, you only raced from a roll, which pretty much means jack shit. Obviously a big-turbo'd V6 will have an advantage racing from a roll.

And what do you plan on getting? If you aren't happy with the potential of the LS1 then I can't really think of any cars that would really make you happy.

You want an MKIV Supra? You feel like paying 30k for a car with 100 thousand hard miles on it?

Anyways, LS1's can be boosted, but nowhere near as much as a Supra. I'd have to forge the entire bottom end to put any decent amount of boost on the car (You can run up to 10psi w/ the STS T67 turbo on a stock block, not bad but not the greatest either).

Oh, and I see 93-95 Supra TT's selling for $21-25K all the time, and modded to boot.

If I would've raced him from a dig, you really think the outcome would've changed

Okay yeah that was a bit harsh. I wasn't implying that you were a bitch, but just that you are being a little sissy about this. I mean did you think you had the fastest car in the world or something?

And I hate to break it to ya' but mod on cars like a TT Supra severely lower the value. You need to find one that hasn't been molested.

You want a car with more potential than the LS1 but still bulletproof? Get an 03/04 Cobra, I'd like to see a MK4 Supra keep up with one of those...

Omg a Supra racing from a roll?!?! No way!

And what I meant was that you can invest the same amount of money into both of those cars, and the Cobra will come out on top.
