Re: *progress* Veilside FD3S RX7

awesome bonnet, interior looks sweet too. I'll be following this one. ^_^

Orange looks really sweet on it... I'm doing this same kit right now, and thought about orange, but decided on a purple/blue. I kind of wish I went with the orange now.

Re: *progress* Veilside FD3S RX7

Hi guys, and thanks to you all for your comments!

This I have done: she isnīt completed yet, because I had to watch her for a while, to decide how I can get some black to the orange. I havenīt a good printer, so no decals to do.
I decidet to built a vinyl tribal from BareMetalFoil black-chrome.
At first the template made of paper and tape.

Besides I decidet to change the steering wheel (thanx to Fujimiīs ReAmemiya).
All of the lights and the finish on the intercooler are done, too. Some mesh at the headlights and hood, better pics will follow soon.

Please enjoy

Thanks for looking

Re: *progress* Veilside FD3S RX7

Wow nice progress and work, love the color and the interior is great. Also nice thinkin on how to do the tribal design
Two things tho..the tribal design looks a little too 3-d, would it be possible to maybe hit it with some clear n polish it out a little?, so it doesnt look as thick n to be more like a vinyl deal.
the other is reguarding the safty harnesses in the interior. When the belts are mounted they are supposed to go straight back either to a roll cage bar or a stand alone horizontal support bar. It can be no closer than a little over a foot or some 40cm straight back behind the seats. Its really unsafe to go straight down with them because in the event of an accident when the body try's to keep accelerating foward it pushes in the belt and causes the spine to compress and leads to serious injury and death Im just sayin for futrure knowldge.
But anyway it is looking really nice all around

Re: *progress* Veilside FD3S RX7

Thank you for your comment WRC_413X .
With the seat belts you are absolutely right. I saw a few weeks ago how to fit them correctly, but I had mine still done. And yes, for next time they will run to the direction of the b- pillar and stay at the hight of driver´s chest.
For my tribal, I think for first ever done it turned out good. The 3D look is that what I wanted! If I had more skills, I did a dragon- tribal.
Anyway, I started this kit for a while and became a member here after that, so because of this case is the previos info in another forum. There I talked about my problems with the paintwork and running laquer. I will not touch this body more with any paint, because I haven´t enough of my orange if something goes wrong again. And the big benefit of BMF black-chrome is the gloss, and it can be removed without any damage on the paint.

Next progress will shown here, too- from beginning
I´m still learning, comments are welcome!

Thats laquer? Nice work. Yea laquers can be pretty tricky to work with at times so i definatly wouldnt want you to risk that great paintjob! and have to start all over again and again great idea with the BMF!

Keep us posted !
