ford fiesta '97

i have a ford fiesta 1.3 encore. recently ive been having trouble with the clutch.
at first it seemed to loose pressure and didnt come up as quick as it should in 1st and 2nd gear. now its sticking down in 1st and reverse and i cant get it out of gear without turning my engine off.
i had a brand new clutch fitted bout 11 months ago and ive only done 7000 miles with the new one!!
the garage that fixed my clutch initally said it was my clutch ratchet but the ford garage said my model of fiesta doesnt have a clutch ratchet
if anyone could give me any advice id be so grateful
