Re: color matching

couple questions. what color is the car stock? why are you painting... damage getting fixed or something? what year is your car? have you done anything to your car as is (rims, tires, color accents, shiny muffler)?< visuals. body kit?

if you want to go with a color interior (like seats dash, lights, other accents) i always liked blue, green, or red. basic colors.... or if you are lookin to put some cash into the interior... my car has that fake leather, w/ ZX2 embroidered in (in silver) middle of the back... if i had a lower end model w/ cloth seats ild find a wreck with the same interior i have now and scavinge as much as i could.

exterior 02's and back... stock body. i dont know. i never liked the front on those, first thing ild do is put a front bumper on that looks mean. but ild go with a good color, my 03 is called manderin orange (ford stock color), and it looks really nice by its self. if it were white or silver, ild 2 tone it. red and black i dont really know. but if i found blue, ild have them remove the clear, (but not down to the primer) and shoot it either candy blue or electric blue. ( the color below will change the outward appearance> ie white primer will make a color brighter, medium grey < the ussual stuff, tends to make it darker, and ive seen very dark primer and its totally changed the apearance of the color.)

Re: color matching

Personally I wanted to get away from the "stockish" colors so hopefully in the next month or two I'll be painting mine a shade of lime green with a blue pearl clearcoat to make it a little different. And as for as the interior I have the charcoal grey in mine, and since I don't really like extravagant interiors I was planning on just putting on a green fabric over the door arm rest cushions and black "carrebuea" seats (notsure of spelling). right now its primed and molded, its taken about 9 month due to lack of time, heres a pic its all primed white now although. http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/inde...e-6aa1aa9bc394
If you have a fiberglass body kit, only mold it if yo know what you are doing, cause i've seen some jokes of molding jobs, bu it does look better molded(most the time) but I wouldn't suggest doing the front or back unless you just plan on it being only a show car, so many people bust them right after they paint them

Re: color matching

Leave it off, I wanted to get rid of all the lines and just make it a smooth look. Most of the door protector strip was just adhesived but unforuntely there ended up being 2 holes on each end of the door, so I had to take off the panel and make a backing for it. Mine also came with th spoiler stock, but I replaced that with a touring spoiler, but finally I just decided I wanted it sleek not showy. by that time the trunk had numerous holes in it but the local junk yard wanted 250 for a spoilerless trunk, so I took the time and did it right now all th holes are gone. the last thing I have to decide is whether o rnot to go badgeless or not. what do you think? by the way have any of you guys ever used a gude head or t-kit? or basically anything gude? seems to be one of the few places that actually have stuff for us. reply within or new thread.
